Program Manager for OPTIMUS and EXPEDITE Air Force Research Laboratory, USA
Dr. Darcy Allison earned his B.S. and M.S. from Arizona State University
and his Ph.D. from Virginia Tech all in Aerospace Engineering. He worked for
four years in the propulsion and thermal group at Space Systems/Loral located
in Palo Alto, California. He later owned his own business that performed
contracted work for the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) integrating
propulsion effects more fully into aircraft Multidisciplinary Analysis and
Design Optimization (MADO) frameworks. He now works as an AFRL employee running
the Boeing OPTIMUS and Lockheed Martin EXPEDITE industry research and
development projects. These programs, among other objectives, both integrate
the disciplinary effects of the thermal and power management subsystems in the
larger full multidisciplinary conceptual design space. Dr. Allison also pursues
his own in-house research on these and other topics and manages a small group
of affiliated co-workers to execute this research.
