Geoff obtained his B.S. in Aerospace engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in 2005, and a Masters in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University in 2006. He completed his Aeronautics and Astronautics Ph.D. at Stanford in 2012 in the Aircraft Design Group, where his research focused on energy efficient flight with a thesis on dynamic soaring. He then spent 4.5 years working on flight controls and aerodynamics at Zee.Aero. He joined the Vahana team in April 2016 and has been Chief Engineer since October 2016. He's also set duration records for indoor free flight models, dabbles in flying RC gliders and multirotors, and has helped construct and pilot the DaSH human powered airplane.
